Do I need to make an appointment to have LE Tax Service prepare my return?

We do work mainly by appointments because your time is special, but they are not mandatory. We gladly accept walk-ins during regular business hours as long as there is a preparer available to serve your needs. We are open during tax season Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Tuesday and Thursday from 12:00 – 8:00 PM, and Saturday by appointment only. We are closed on Sunday. After April 15th we are available upon request.

How much will it cost for LE Tax Service to prepare my return?

Our fee is based upon the forms and schedules required to complete your return. While we are not able to quote you an exact price over the phone due to the many possibilities of what you might need, you can contact us at linda@letaxservices.com for a price quote based on the information you provide. Have your last year’s return handy as a forms reference.

How much is it to E-file my return?

There is NO CHARGE for electronic filing if we prepare your return. If you qualify for electronic filing, we will transmit the federal, all states, and any city returns for no additional fee.

What do I need to bring when I come in to have my return prepared?

Please bring with you all documents relevant to the current year such as W-2’s, 1099’s, interest and broker statements, mortgage statements, real estate taxes paid, charitable contributions (cash and non-cash), Schedule K-1’s from partnerships or small corporations, etc. There is a comprehensive list -here- that you can print and use as a guide.  If you are self-employed or own rental property, there will be additional records that we will need to see. If you bought or sold a home during the year, we will need to see the closing statement from each of those transactions.  Additionally, new clients will need to bring a copy of their prior year’s tax return as it may contain information relevant to the current year. Here’s a list that will help you- What to Bring?

When will I receive my refund?

The best way to determine your projected refund date from the IRS or NYS is to check the appropriate website. Click here to easily see when your refunds are expected to arrive.

How can I get my refund the quickest way possible?

There are several ways to get your refund, but the quickest is direct deposit directly from the IRS and NYS, in as little a 8 days.  If you don’t have a bank account, you can choose to have your refund loaded on our E1 Visa card, or pick up a check in our office.  Of course, you also can have checks mailed to your home, but that is the slowest way to get your refund.

Can I have my tax preparation fee paid from my refund?

Yes, by utilizing our partner EPS program, you can have our fee deducted from your refund.  There may be an additional fee for a paper check or direct deposit, but the Visa is FREE!

What if I need help after April 15th?

LE Tax Service is available upon appointment.  If you have questions or need help with current or prior taxes, please feel free to contact us. We’re always there for you, before or after April 15th.
